From Clothing Designer to Home Decor


Legendary designer Diane Von Furstenberg, known for her Bohemian chic style, eccentric patterns and bold colors, is expanding her palette to the home front.


According to The Independent, Von Furstenberg is partnering up with home furnishings company Springs Global, to launch a home decor line, which will include bedding, table wear and bath accessories. The line will be available January 2011.

This is the first freestanding home range for the savvy designer. Her interior designs will be carried by international department stores as well as her Web site.

Von Furstenberg first came on the scene in 1972 with her iconic wrap dress, which was embraced by the fashion world and sold to millions. After a hiatus, she re-emerged in 1997 and re-introduced the wrap dress with a new spin and her deigns have been on fire since.

In 2005, Diane was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) for her impact on fashion. A year later she was elected the CFDA’s new president, an office she continues to hold. Source
