Jean Paul Gaultier Designs Home Collection For Roche Bobois

It's been almost ten years since Jean Paul Gaultier designed a pair of Roman chariot-style armchairs for VIA, and today the designer announced he's re-entering the world of home decor with French furniture brand Roche Bobois.

The Jean Paul Gaultier-designed furniture collection will be unveiled in the coming months and to promote the release, Roche Bobois has sponsored Gaultier to outfit the Elle Decoration suite in Paris. The Trocadéro district apartment, which has in the past been decorated by Maison Martin Margiela and Christian Lacroix, features a hallway completely covered in nautical strips (matching Gaultier's favorite Breton T-shirt), a jungle-themed living room that is covered in overgrown foliage, and a "flesh room" with walls painted in skin-tones and trompe l’oeil fishnet carpeting on the floors.
